The UAE braces for a second wave of unsettled weather, including heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and possible hail, expected to hit on Tuesday. The National Centre of Meteorology issued a bulletin after the initial bout of unstable conditions persisted from Monday evening to Tuesday noon, urging residents to stay informed and cautious.

The second wave, starting today, is anticipated to witness an increase in convective cloud coverage, resulting in varying intensities of rainfall, as reported by Khaleej Times. The NCM's weather bulletin highlights, "Another wave begins from the Western areas and includes scattered areas of the country, where the amounts of convective clouds increase, associated with rainfall of different intensities, accompanied by lightning and thunder, and a probability of hail over some areas."

NCEMA, in its notification on Monday, advised residents to leave the safety of their homes only in "cases of extreme necessity." Additionally, it urged people to park vehicles in distant, safe, and elevated locations away from flood-prone areas.

In response to the impending severe weather, schools transitioned to online learning, and government staff were instructed to telework. The forecast warns of intensified conditions with lightning, thunder, and hailstones potentially damaging vehicles. Some roads became impassable due to flooding, leading to vehicle breakdowns, while electricity outages were also reported by some residents.

This marks the second stay-at-home advisory issued by authorities in two months. In March, residents were similarly advised to remain indoors as unstable weather conditions prompted road closures to valleys and mountains.

Meanwhile, neighboring Oman grapples with heavy flooding, with the death toll rising to 18 and others still missing as the sultanate prepares for the storm.
