‘Stage X’ at Xposure 2025 to feature talks by award-winning storytellers

The 9th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival will bring back its ‘Stage X’ platform. This is a place where the best photographers, artists, filmmakers, and experts from the creative world will talk and share ideas about how pictures tell stories. This year, many talks, interviews, and presentations will be given to help people think in new ways and come up with creative ideas.

The event is hosted by the and will take place from February 20 to 26, 2025, in Aljada, Sharjah. The festival will bring together top photographers, filmmakers, and artists from around the world to celebrate visual art and storytelling for seven exciting days.

At Xposure 2025, ‘Stage X’ will offer amazing talks and workshops. People who attend will learn how to improve their storytelling skills, understand how pictures shape our views of the world, and discover the stories behind famous images.

One exciting session will feature Greg Gorman, a famous photographer who takes portraits of Hollywood stars. He will talk about his work with artist Gary Johns in a session called “Homage: A Tribute to Tribal Artists,” where they will show how African tribal art mixes with modern photography.

Another session, “Ephemeral Dreams: A Journey Through Storytelling,” will talk about how being alone in nature can connect with human feelings. The photos in this session will show deep and personal stories.

Andrea Belluso, a well-known photographer, will talk about using art to help save the planet in his session “Arts for Future: Nurturing the Planet through Arts.” He is known for mixing art with messages about the environment. Agorastos Papatsanis, a photographer who loves taking close-up pictures of nature, will also talk about mushrooms and their role in nature in his session “Mushroom Magic.”

Danish photographer Søren Solkær will share his amazing work with starling flocks in “The Black Sun Project.” He is famous for working with artists like Björk and U2. Adventure photographer Franck Gazzola will talk about his ten-year journey to explore the oceans in his session, “An Odyssey of Change – 10 Years of Oceanic Exploration.” He has worked with National Geographic to show the importance of ocean conservation.

In another session called “Framing Hunger,” Lys Arango, a photojournalist, will show powerful images of hunger and the strength of people fighting to survive. “Bakashimika: Visual Storytelling in Southern Africa” will discuss how photographers from Zambia and Southern Africa are using pictures to tell stories about Africa today.

Martin Schoeller, a famous photographer known for his detailed close-up pictures, will give a talk about his career in “Redefining Portraiture Over Three Decades.” His work has been published in well-known magazines like National Geographic, TIME, and The New Yorker.

Stage X will also have talks about photojournalism, the future of technology in photography, and how photographers can use their work to tell important environmental stories. There will also be workshops for anyone interested in learning more about photography and visual art. For more details.
