During the event, His Highness signed the first edition of the third phase of the "Rhetorical Interpretation" Encyclopedia, which contains 22 volumes covering eight chapters of the Holy Quran. With this, the encyclopedia now has 47 volumes across three phases, with over 110,000 rhetorical titles. He also signed the Warsh Narration Encyclopedia, which focuses on different reading methods. This includes 18 volumes and extras like family trees of Qalun and Warsh narrations, a visual summary of Warsh rules, a Mushaf showing the narration, and a Warsh Mushaf with Eastern diacritics.
The event began with a Quran recitation by Hazza bin Abdullah Al Balushi, a student who recited with the narration of Shu’bah on the authority of Asim. After this, Dr Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, gave a speech. He thanked His Highness for his strong support for the Holy Quran, the Academy, and its research projects.
Dr Al Tunaiji spoke about the Academy’s mission to spread the Holy Quran worldwide. He praised His Highness for making the Academy a global leader in Quranic studies and recitation.
He shared that the Sharjah Electronic Recitation Centre has grown into a global platform, reaching 172 countries. So far, the Academy has given 1,518 Quranic licenses to students who passed the Sanad test, covering both single and combined readings. Of these, 91 graduates have started teaching others, while 135 students received the Sanad certificate from the Academy.
Dr Al Tunaiji also mentioned that the Sharjah International Electronic Recitation Centre now has 938 students and has recorded 1,742 recitations by March 2025 under the guidance of expert reciters.
He spoke about the Academy’s research and publications, highlighting the release of the third phase of the "Rhetorical Interpretation" Encyclopedia. This part contains 22 volumes covering eight chapters of the Quran, with input from 40 scholars. With this, the encyclopedia now includes 47 volumes covering 22 chapters of the Quran.
He added that the Academy has released eight scientific books to support students, researchers, and Quranic scholars. These books focus on linguistic and rhetorical studies, helping people who want to learn more about the Quran.
Dr Al Tunaiji shared that the Academy’s seminars and summer programmes have attracted 3,382 people, including 1,082 in-person and 2,300 online participants. These programmes covered topics like manuscript restoration, Tajweed rules, Quranic recitation styles, and vocal training.
The Academy has also welcomed 8,437 visitors, including dignitaries, Quran experts, and university students, as part of regional and international delegations.
During the event, His Highness listened to a recitation by Ahmed Fawzi, an Indonesian student who completed his Quranic studies under reciter Mustafa Khader. Sheikh Sultan then signed Fawzi's certificate, giving him a Quranic license, showing the Academy’s goal to spread Quranic knowledge around the world.
His Highness also honoured the sponsors and supporters of the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy by giving them certificates of appreciation and shields. He then took a group photo with the scholars and people who worked on the encyclopedias.
At the end of the event, the fifth batch of graduates from the Academy received their Quranic licenses, with a Sanad (chain of transmission) going back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The "Rhetorical Interpretation" Encyclopedia is a unique project that explains the rhetoric of the Holy Quran. It shows the difference between Quranic words, using reliable interpretive and linguistic sources.
The "Methods of Separating Readings" Encyclopedia focuses on Quranic recitation sciences. It has three main sections, including the single-narrator method explained in over 10 volumes. It also includes a Quran with notes, a colour-coded Quran showing recitation rules, and family tree charts of narrations.
Both encyclopedias give reciters and scholars a full guide to all types of Quranic recitations, without favouring any specific school.
The Sharjah Holy Quran Academy continues to play a big role in Quranic education through its three main branches: the Sharjah Global Electronic Recitation Centre, scientific research projects, and Quranic museums.
The Academy’s work aims to support students, researchers, and scholars by giving them valuable resources. It also promotes local and international partnerships, helping to preserve and spread Quranic knowledge.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture, Dr Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, Ali Ahmed Bu Ghazin, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Mail, Chairman of the Social Services Department, Jamal Al Turaifi, President of Al Qasimia University, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of Protocol and Hospitality Department, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, Abdullah bin Yarouf Al Sabousi, Chairman of the Department of Islamic Affairs, along with senior officials, dignitaries, and Quranic scholars.
