His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, underscored the importance of preserving the historical, scientific, and intellectual contributions of the Quran's reciters and scholars. He highlighted their crucial role in studying, memorizing, and sharing the knowledge contained in the Quran, emphasizing that their dedication to learning and teaching helps safeguard religious knowledge and ensures its continued dissemination.
This message came during His Highness’s reception of the grandchildren of Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Saadi at the Holy Quran Academy on Saturday morning. His Highness welcomed the guests warmly, acknowledging their significant role in preserving the legacy of their grandfather, Sheikh Al-Saadi, a renowned scholar who made profound contributions to Quranic interpretation, jurisprudence, and the field of creed.
In the meeting, His Highness praised the monumental efforts of Sheikh Al-Saadi, whose scholarly works are considered key in understanding the Quran, Hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence. He also pointed to the ongoing efforts in Sharjah to document and protect the scientific legacy of the Quran, the Prophetic Sunnah, and the Arabic language. These initiatives are supported by specialized institutions in Sharjah, designed to preserve and spread the great history of the nation, ensuring that it is passed on to future generations.

Sheikh Dr. Sultan also emphasized Sharjah’s dedication to honoring scholars and promoting knowledge through a variety of events, awards, and other forms of recognition. These initiatives focus on acknowledging the contributions of scholars in all disciplines, especially those involved in the Quran's recitation, interpretation, and the promotion of its teachings.
The Ruler of Sharjah specifically appreciated Sheikh Al-Saadi’s commitment to the Quran and his clear, accessible writing style, which made his works popular among scholars and students alike. His writings, particularly in the areas of jurisprudence, Hadith, and creed, were marked by simplicity and clarity, ensuring that complex topics were made understandable for all.
During the meeting, His Highness was also briefed on an exhibition showcasing some of Sheikh Al-Saadi’s valuable works. The exhibition includes manuscripts on Quranic interpretation, jurisprudence, Hadith, and creed, as well as drafts of books, letters, fatwas, and other rare historical writings. These items highlight Sheikh Al-Saadi’s vast contribution to Islamic scholarship and the clarity of his teachings.
The exhibition also features photographs documenting the historic mosques that Sheikh Al-Saadi was associated with throughout his life. It offers a detailed narrative of his scholarly journey, his interaction with other renowned scholars, and his influence on the educational landscape in his time.
In discussing Sheikh Al-Saadi’s life, His Highness noted the scholar’s remarkable contributions to Islamic knowledge and education. Al-Saadi’s legacy extends through his teachings, his writings, and his influential role in shaping the understanding of the Quran and Islamic sciences. His approach was characterized by a commitment to clear, straightforward language, making complex theological and jurisprudential issues accessible to all.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi presented a certificate of appreciation to the grandchildren of Sheikh Al-Saadi in recognition of their efforts to preserve and promote their grandfather’s intellectual heritage. The Ruler of Sharjah also expressed gratitude for the collection of Sheikh Al-Saadi’s works, which they had gifted to the Holy Quran Academy.
The grandchildren of Sheikh Al-Saadi thanked His Highness for the warm reception and expressed their appreciation for Sharjah’s role in honoring and preserving their grandfather’s contributions to the world of Islamic knowledge.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi, born in Unayzah in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia in 1889, was a distinguished Islamic scholar. He memorized the Quran at an early age and went on to dedicate his life to studying and teaching various Islamic sciences. Al-Saadi’s scholarly works in Quranic interpretation, jurisprudence, and Hadith are highly regarded, and his books are renowned for their simplicity and clarity. He played an instrumental role in educating future scholars, including the late Sheikh Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Uthaymeen. Throughout his life, Sheikh Al-Saadi also served as imam and khatib at the Grand Mosque in Unayzah and was deeply involved in the establishment of the National Library. He passed away in 1956 after a lifetime of devotion to knowledge and scholarship.
Also present at the meeting were prominent figures such as His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Dr. Khalifa Musabeh bin Ahmed Al Teneiji, Chairman of the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah; Professor Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University; Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department; and Abdullah Khalifa Al-Sabousi, Chairman of the Department of Islamic Affairs, alongside several other officials.
