Sharjah Padel Championship 2 Winners Crowned by Sultan Bin Ahmed in Thrilling Finale

Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, presided over the awards ceremony on Sunday evening, honoring the champions of the second edition of the Sharjah Sports Padel Championship. Held at the WPA Sports Complex in Al Rahmaniya, Sharjah, the event showcased thrilling competition across three categories.

In the national category, Issa Al Shaibani and Mohammed Al Muhairi emerged victorious, while Ali Diwani from Bahrain and Jose Arcos from Spain claimed the top spot in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and foreigners category. The international category saw Youssef Hossam and George Wakim from Egypt clinch first place.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed also extended recognition to the referees, presented second-place shields to teams across different categories, and acknowledged the contributions of sponsors, supporters, and partners who facilitated the championship.

The Deputy Ruler was personally present at the culmination of the international tournament, organized by the Sharjah Sports Channel in collaboration with the WPA. The final match was a spectacle of intense competition and skill, showcasing significant improvement since the tournament's inception.

Spanning six days, the championship attracted 450 players from 26 nations, competing fiercely across UAE nationals, GCC countries, and international categories. Participants hailed from diverse countries including Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, as well as professional players from Spain, Argentina, and Portugal. The total prize pool amounted to AED 205,000, with an additional AED 100,000 in rewards distributed among attending fans. The tournament employed a knockout format leading up to the grand finale.

The final match and award ceremony were attended by prominent figures including Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi, Head of Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, and Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah International Airport Authority, alongside heads of various government departments, representatives of sponsoring firms, and passionate fans of the sport.
