Silver Line Gate Group (SLG Group) has officially commenced construction on an integrated hub valued at AED 200 million in Dubai Industrial City, recognized as the leading manufacturing and logistics hub in the Middle East. This project is part of TECOM Group PJSC’s network of ten vibrant business districts located throughout Dubai.
The new facility, which will encompass a total area of 1.37 million square feet, is set to be operational by next year. The announcement was made during the SIAL Paris 2024, a renowned global food exhibition held from October 19 to 23 at Paris Nord Villepinte in France.

SLG Group, a prominent player in the food and beverage (F&B) industry known for brands such as Lancy, Gardo, Silva, Sama, and Zain, is expected to have an annual production capacity of 90,000 tonnes of milk powder and 10,000 tonnes of butter at this new location. This expansion will bolster their offerings of milk, whey, and specialty products, which include fruit and vegetable-based seasonings.
“Food security is crucial for economic prosperity, and sustainable F&B value chains are key to embedding resilience in the future,” remarked Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, on behalf of Dubai Industrial City. He emphasized that advanced manufacturing is vital for achieving this vision, stating, “Our ecosystem has been purpose-built to nurture this growth.”
Alshawareb highlighted that partnerships with companies like SLG Group are pivotal in supporting the UAE's food security agenda. He stressed the importance of driving economic excellence through collaborative innovation in the manufacturing sector, aligning with initiatives such as Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, and the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’.
Shereen Saeed, General Manager at SLG Group, expressed excitement about the project, describing it as a major milestone that will strengthen the regional value chain for F&B products. She stated, “Our state-of-the-art facility will leverage Dubai Industrial City’s infrastructure to fortify the regional manufacturing economy, ensuring a resilient and agile supply of essential milk-based products.” Saeed further noted that Dubai's rise as a global industrial hub makes it an ideal location for the company’s growth and expansion into new markets.
The establishment of this integrated manufacturing hub is a significant step in Dubai's and the UAE’s ambition to emerge as a global manufacturing powerhouse, in line with the National Food Security Strategy 2051. Once operational, the facility will cater to a diverse clientele, including bakeries, restaurants, ice cream manufacturers, hotels, and caterers throughout the GCC, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Equipped with fully automated machinery and advanced equipment, SLG Group’s facility aims to ensure operational excellence and product quality. The new hub is also projected to create approximately 300 jobs, further contributing to Dubai's and the UAE’s manufacturing and logistics economy. The strategic location of Dubai Industrial City, in proximity to key transport networks like Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and major roadways, will facilitate seamless connectivity for market expansion.
Currently, Dubai Industrial City is home to over 1,000 local, regional, and international customers, alongside 300 operational factories that promote the ‘Made in UAE’ brand. Notable industry leaders such as A.P. Moeller-Maersk, Patchi, and Al Barakah Dates have established their presence in the area.
As part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism’s (DET) delegation at SIAL Paris 2024, Dubai Industrial City highlighted its “Make Brilliance” global awareness campaign, launched in May 2023. This campaign aims to elevate industry standards and promote advanced manufacturing in the food sector while attracting international manufacturers to establish operations in Dubai and the UAE.
Dubai Industrial City is one of the largest manufacturing hubs in the region and is part of TECOM Group’s extensive portfolio, which includes other notable business districts such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Design District (d3), and Dubai Science Park.
