Saudia to Launch Direct Flights from Riyadh to Moscow Starting October 2025
In a significant development for travellers and businesses alike, Saudia, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Moscow. The service is set to commence from October 1, 2025, marking a new chapter in air connectivity between the two countries.
According to Saudia officials, flights will operate three times a week, departing from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and arriving at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow. This move comes as part of the airline’s wider strategy to expand its international network and provide passengers with greater convenience and comfort.
At present, passengers travelling between Saudi Arabia and Russia often face the inconvenience of long layovers and connecting flights through third countries. The introduction of this direct route is expected to significantly reduce travel time and make journeys smoother for business travellers, tourists, and families visiting their loved ones.

Saudia has built a reputation for its quality service, and passengers on this new route can expect a comfortable flying experience with well-maintained cabins, hygienic onboard facilities, full meal services, and courteous staff to assist throughout their journey.
The announcement has been welcomed by tourism and trade officials from both nations. The direct flights are expected to boost tourism, with many Saudi travellers eager to explore Russia’s rich history, unique architecture, and winter landscapes. Likewise, Russian visitors have shown growing interest in discovering Saudi Arabia’s modern cities, historical sites, and desert experiences.
Economic analysts believe the new connection will also strengthen business ties and trade cooperation between Riyadh and Moscow. Direct connectivity is often a catalyst for enhanced bilateral relations, opening avenues for investment and cultural exchange.
Officials from Saudi Arabia and Russia have both expressed optimism about the impact of this new route. In statements released following Saudia’s announcement, representatives highlighted that easier travel will not only benefit tourism but also deepen friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.
Bookings for the Riyadh-Moscow flights are expected to open soon on Saudia’s official website and through accredited travel agents. The airline has urged travellers planning year-end business trips or winter holidays to book early to secure their seats.
This new route is seen as a reflection of Saudia’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading global carrier and supporting the Kingdom’s broader vision of enhancing international connectivity to drive economic growth and cultural exchange.
