Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is set to bring the epic Ramayana to the big screen in a grandeur never seen before. The film, produced by Namit Malhotra and featuring a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, promises to recreate the timeless story with authenticity and cinematic excellence. The project will be released in two parts, with the first installment slated for Diwali 2026 and the second for Diwali 2027.

In a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Ravie Dubey, who plays Lakshman, opened up about the working environment on the set. He described the production as unusually smooth, with no extended shifts, full preparation, and punctuality, which is a rare occurrence in large-scale film shoots. “The sets of Ramayana were run like clockwork. Everyone was well-prepared, disciplined, and completely committed to their roles,” Ravie noted.

Ravie further elaborated on the transformative nature of his role. “Playing Lakshman changed me. I had to completely alter my routine and behaviour to be authentic because the audience can immediately sense insincerity. Every one of us, including Ranbir Kapoor, adjusted our lives to do justice to these legendary characters. This felt more like a yagya than just a film shoot.”

Highlighting Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication, Ravie shared, “Ranbir has an incredible aura. He’s quiet, graceful, and deeply committed. His energy is soft yet powerful, and it impacts everyone around him.” On the other hand, Ravie described Yash, who portrays Ravana, as extremely warm, friendly, and approachable. “Both actors are very different, yet equally kind-hearted,” he added.

The film’s ensemble cast adds further depth to this epic adaptation. Sunny Deol embodies Lord Hanuman with his larger-than-life presence, Sai Pallavi takes on the role of Sita with grace and strength, and Yash brings a nuanced intensity to Ravana. Nitesh Tiwari’s direction, coupled with Mukesh Chhabra’s casting expertise, aims to ensure each character resonates with the audience, both in personality and performance.

Earlier this year, the makers unveiled the first look of the film, generating massive excitement among fans. The visual representation of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama left viewers mesmerized, hinting at the scale and grandeur of the project. The film’s approach combines traditional storytelling with modern cinematic techniques, ensuring it appeals to both devotees of the epic and general audiences alike.

Ravie Dubey’s insights also shed light on the rigorous preparation behind the film. Actors immersed themselves not only in the characters’ psychological aspects but also in physical discipline, dialogues, and mannerisms. “Every gesture, every word, every reaction had to be true to the character. We made sacrifices to maintain authenticity,” Ravie revealed.

With Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari is set to deliver an epic saga that balances devotion, drama, and cinematic spectacle. The combination of Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication, a strong supporting cast, and meticulous production values promises an unforgettable cinematic experience, making this adaptation one of the most anticipated films of the decade.

The first part of the film is scheduled for release on Diwali 2026, and the second part will follow the next year, continuing the story with the same grandeur and attention to detail. Fans eagerly await the film, which aims to bring India’s timeless epic to life on the big screen in a way that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant.
