The Ras Al Khaimah Police have taken stringent measures against vehicles with modified engines and those operating without license plates, aligning with the Ministry of Interior's strategy to ensure safe road movement through modern traffic systems. The Traffic and Patrols Department collaborated with the Comprehensive Police Stations Department for this initiative.
In 2023, a total of 247 violations were issued for vehicles whose owners had illegally modified their engines or chassis without proper authorization. Each violation resulted in a fine of Dh1,000, 12 traffic points deduction, and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle.
Furthermore, during the same period, 42 vehicles driving without license plates were seized. Offenders faced a Dh3,000 fine for each offense, a deduction of 23 traffic points, and a 90-day impoundment of their vehicles.
Major Khaled Al Shamsi, Head of the Traffic Investigation and Control Department at the Ras Al Khaimah Police, emphasized the commitment to road safety. He urged vehicle owners and drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to enhance road safety and avoid legal consequences. Stringent legal measures will be taken against violators to ensure a secure traffic environment in the emirate.
