With the summer holidays coming up, many schools and colleges will soon close. This means families will start planning trips to cooler places in India and other countries. To meet the rise in travel demand, Pune Airport will introduce a new ‘summer schedule’ starting from March 30, 2025.

Under this schedule, the airport will handle 104 departures and 104 arrivals each day, making it a total of 208 flight movements daily. This is a big jump from the current winter schedule, which has 90 departures and 90 arrivals, totaling 180 flights a day.

More Flights, Less Hassle

The winter schedule often causes problems for travellers due to fewer flights. It can be hard to get tickets, and many people face last-minute cancellations or struggle to find available flights. However, the new summer schedule will have more flight slots, making it easier for people to book tickets and reducing the chances of cancellations. This will be a big relief for those planning summer vacations.

Wider Travel Options

According to the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the summer schedule will run for six months starting from March 30. It will offer flights to 35 domestic and international destinations, including popular locations like Dubai, Singapore, and Bangkok. There will also be more flights within Maharashtra and other parts of India, giving Punekars more travel choices.

What the Officials Say

Santosh Dhoke, the director of Pune Airport, shared that the new schedule will benefit passengers by making travel smoother and more convenient. He said, “With more flights and increased connectivity, people will have an easier time planning their trips, especially during the busy summer season.” He also mentioned that the airport will have 104 to 109 flight slots, making travel less stressful.

Frequent Flyers Welcome the Change

Many regular travellers are happy about this change. Priya Deshmukh, who often travels for work, called it a “game-changer.” She said, “The extra flights will give me more flexibility in booking tickets. It will also help me avoid the stress of last-minute travel plans. The direct flights to places like Dubai and Singapore are especially useful for my business trips.”

Rohan Mandane, who travels with his family during summer vacations, also praised the new schedule. He said, “Finding flights during the summer rush is always tough. With more options, it will be easier to plan our family trips. I am especially excited about the direct flights to Bangkok and the added convenience of flying to northern India.”

A Smoother Travel Experience

The new summer schedule is expected to improve travel for both business and holiday travellers. With more flight options and better connectivity, Pune Airport will become a more convenient travel hub for people in the region and beyond.
