DUBAI: Thousands of workers from countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal came together to celebrate Eid ul Adha in Dubai during a joyful event filled with fun, music, and big prizes.
The celebration was held in the Al Quoz area and brought smiles to more than 42,000 workers from different nationalities. The event was organised by Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together.” It was planned to honor the hardworking men who help build and grow the city.
During the event, workers had the chance to win luxury cars, gold bars, cash rewards, and return air tickets. The total value of all prizes given out was AED 500,000.
Speaking at the event, Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, who is the Assistant Director General at GDRFA, said,

“This event is our way of saying thank you to the laborers who work so hard. Their efforts are a big reason why Dubai is growing fast. We wanted them to feel happy and special on this Eid.”
The celebration was full of life, with colorful stage performances, cultural dances, and songs in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Pashto. These musical performances created a lively and festive mood, where people clapped, danced, and enjoyed themselves.
The highlight of the night was a surprise appearance by Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat, who joined the celebration and gave a special performance, making the evening even more exciting.
Along with stage shows and music, the workers also received traditional Eid gifts, showing how much the city values their presence and efforts.
Dubai government officials said this kind of event shows how the city welcomes people from different backgrounds and cultures. It also proves that Dubai is a place where workers are respected and cared for.
