NZ star shatters T20I record, scores 27 in an over vs Pak

In the third T20I against Pakistan in Dunedin, New Zealand opener Finn Allen smashed a record-breaking 137 off 62 deliveries, setting a formidable 225-run target. Allen surpassed Brendon McCullum for the highest T20 score by a New Zealander and equaled the world record of 16 sixes in an innings held by Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai. Notably, he hit Pakistan's Haris Rauf for 27 in a single over.

Pakistan, having won the toss, elected to bowl first. A Blackcaps victory would secure the five-match series, having won the first two games by 46 and 21 runs, respectively. Stand-in captain Mitchell Santner, acknowledging the overcast conditions, expected a high-scoring match.

Regular captain Kane Williamson, rested for game three, will miss the rest of the series due to a hamstring injury. Tim Seifert replaced Williamson, with Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson added to bolster the bowling ranks.
