Nvidia stunned markets Wednesday with record-breaking quarterly sales, fueled by soaring demand for its AI-focused data center chips. Revenue for the October quarter reached $57 billion, a 62% jump from the same period last year, exceeding analysts’ expectations. The company also raised guidance for the current quarter, projecting $65 billion in revenue, signaling confidence in continued growth.
Shares of Nvidia climbed nearly 5% in premarket trading, reflecting relief among investors who have been wary of an AI-driven market bubble. The tech giant’s latest results underscore the powerful role of artificial intelligence in reshaping the computing landscape, with AI adoption now spreading across industries at unprecedented speed.
Sales of Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs—its most advanced chips—soared, while revenue from data centers hit a record $51.2 billion, topping analyst forecasts. Quarterly net income rose 65% to $31.9 billion, reflecting both strong demand and effective cost management.
Despite the strong performance, Nvidia faces potential headwinds, including restrictions on selling advanced chips to China, a key growth market. Still, the company has expanded opportunities in the Middle East, with approval to export tens of thousands of AI servers to UAE and Saudi Arabia firms seeking to strengthen their AI capabilities.
The AI boom has created both excitement and caution in markets. While Nvidia continues to lead in high-performance chips, investors remain watchful of the pace of global AI spending and geopolitical factors that could affect sales.
