In response to recent violence targeting Hindu communities in Bangladesh, the interim government has pledged to take action against those responsible for desecrating temples and committing acts of looting and arson. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the interim government, is scheduled to meet with Hindu Bengali leaders on Tuesday to address the crisis and discuss measures to prevent further attacks.
The violence, which has occurred amid the ongoing political turmoil, has seen numerous Hindu temples, homes, and businesses vandalized. Yunus has publicly condemned these acts as "heinous" and emphasized the need for solidarity among the country’s communities. During a speech at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, he urged students to protect their fellow citizens, stating, "Are they (minorities) not the people of this country? You (students) have been able to save this country; can't you save some families? You must say, 'No one can harm them. They are my brothers; we fought together, and we will stay together.'"
Yunus has also expressed concerns that the attacks might be part of a deliberate attempt to undermine progress and stability in the country. He warned against falling into traps set by those wishing to disrupt national unity and progress.

According to reports from the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council and the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, there have been at least 205 attacks on minority communities across 52 districts since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. The violence has not only involved vandalism but also resulted in the deaths of at least two Hindu leaders affiliated with Hasina’s Awami League party.
In response to these events, several Hindu organizations have called on the central government to intervene and protect Hindu citizens in Bangladesh. Groups such as Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Manav Seva Pratisthan, Vajra Dal, Yog Vedant Samiti, Suyash Mitra Mandal, Shri Shivarajyabhishek Dinotsav Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha, and Hindu Janjagruti Samiti held a demonstration in Mumbai on Sunday, voicing their demands for action. They submitted a memorandum to the government, highlighting the need for urgent measures to safeguard Hindus in Bangladesh from ongoing attacks.
