Miss Universe India 2025, Manika Vishwakarma, continues to win the hearts of people around the world. She is competing in the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand, and her confidence, charm and thoughtful answers have made her stand out on the global stage. While her stylish outfits have gained much attention, her calm and clear responses during interviews show her strength even more.
On November 16, during a “chain reaction question session”, Manika was asked a special question that carries a strong link to India’s past in the Miss Universe journey. The interviewer reminded her of the famous moment in 1994, when Sushmita Sen became the first Indian woman to win Miss Universe. Sushmita was asked, “What is the essence of being a woman?” The same question was now passed on to Manika.
Before giving her own answer, Manika respectfully remembered what Sushmita Sen had said. She recalled that Sushmita, who was only 18 at the time, had spoken with honesty and simplicity. Sushmita had said that the essence of being a woman is the ability to nurture life and to nurture everything around her. Manika said that this answer still carries a deep truth, even after so many years.
Manika then shared her own thoughts. She said that while Sushmita’s answer was perfect in spirit, she would like to expand it further. She explained that society often places women in fixed roles, expecting them to be only one thing. But she believes women should see themselves first as human beings, not only as roles created by society.
She said women have the gift of nurturing, the power to create life, and the special ability to bring beauty and warmth into the world. According to her, the essence of being a woman is more than nurturing — it is about embracing beauty, spreading it, and making everything around them better. She called being a woman “infinite”, because a woman carries endless strength, love, and creativity within her.
Her answer touched many listeners because it was simple, emotional, and honest. It showed respect for India’s history in the pageant, while also bringing a fresh and modern thought to the same question. Many viewers praised her for staying calm, speaking clearly, and showing a deep understanding of womanhood.
Manika Vishwakarma’s journey at Miss Universe 2025 has already inspired many young people in India and across the world. Her words show that beauty pageants are not only about fashion but also about sharing meaningful ideas and giving women a voice. Her answer highlights the growing belief that a woman’s value is not limited to traditional roles. Instead, it is wide, powerful, and full of possibility.
As the competition continues, many are watching closely and hoping that she will take India one step closer to another global crown. Whether she wins or not, her thoughtful answer has already made a mark and will be remembered by many.
