A shocking twist has emerged in the Maharashtra doctor suicide case as Bhagyashree Pachangne, a grieving mother from Satara, alleged that her daughter’s postmortem report was deliberately altered under pressure. The doctor, who herself died by suicide, has been accused of being coerced to sign a fake postmortem report — exposing what could be a deeply disturbing web of corruption and power misuse in Maharashtra’s medical and police systems.
According to Bhagyashree Pachangne, her daughter, Deepali Maruti, did not die by suicide as claimed. Instead, she suspects foul play involving her son-in-law, Ajinkya Hanmant Nimbalkar, an Indian Army officer, and his family. The Maharashtra doctor suicide case has now taken a fresh turn, with Bhagyashree alleging that Deepali faced continuous physical and mental torture at her in-laws’ home. Despite being six months pregnant and having a young daughter, Deepali’s sudden death on August 19 has raised serious doubts for the family, who now believe she was murdered.
The grieving mother revealed that when Deepali’s postmortem report was finally handed over — nearly a month after her death — it appeared entirely fabricated. Bhagyashree Pachangne alleged that the doctor in Maharashtra, who later took her own life, had been forced to sign that report under pressure from influential people connected to the accused. “My daughter could not have taken her life. She was strong, loving, and devoted to her children. I believe she was killed, and the truth was buried,” Bhagyashree said with deep emotion.
In a disturbing revelation, the deceased doctor’s suicide note, scrawled on her palm, accused police sub-inspector Gopal Badane of sexual assault and software engineer Prashant Bankar of relentless mental harassment. The doctor also mentioned a former MP in a separate four-page suicide letter, claiming that political aides had forced her to falsely declare an accused, Malhari Channe, medically fit. This revelation has triggered a massive political storm in Maharashtra, with opposition parties accusing the government of shielding powerful individuals.
A relative of the doctor told the Press Trust of India that she had been repeatedly pressured by “political people in Phaltan” to alter medical and postmortem reports. “She complained several times against PSI Badane, but no one listened,” the relative said, highlighting the doctor’s growing distress. The Maharashtra doctor suicide case has therefore become a symbol of how power, intimidation, and silence can destroy lives.
Meanwhile, authorities have arrested software engineer Prashant Bankar, accused of mentally harassing the doctor, while PSI Gopal Badane, accused of rape, surrendered and has since been suspended. Police have registered a case of rape and abetment of suicide against both men. The doctor suicide case continues to dominate headlines, with calls growing louder for an impartial probe and justice for both the doctor and Deepali.
Bhagyashree Pachangne’s plea for truth and justice has resonated across Maharashtra. Her words — filled with pain and determination — have added new urgency to the investigation. “My daughter was six months pregnant. She had a small child. No mother should have to fight this battle alone,” she said tearfully.
As the Maharashtra doctor suicide case unfolds, the state is watching closely. Will justice prevail, or will this tragedy join the growing list of cases silenced by influence and fear? For now, Bhagyashree’s voice stands as a symbol of every mother’s fight for truth — against power, pressure, and corruption.
