The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced that the Liwa International Festival 2026 will take place from 12 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 in Liwa, Al Dhafra Region.
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the festival is organised in partnership with Liwa Sports Club, Al Dhafra Municipality, Abu Dhabi Police, Miral, Abu Dhabi Media Network, and other local partners.
The 23-day festival will feature a wide range of activities, including speed races, drift shows, and dune driving challenges with professional competitors from around the world. Visitors can also enjoy family entertainment, live concerts, cultural tours, and adventure activities, all centred around Tal Moreeb, the UAE’s tallest sand dunes.
Liwa Village will offer an authentic Emirati experience with a crafts market, creative workshops, children’s games, local shops, and a variety of food options. DCT Abu Dhabi will also host desert art and entertainment activities alongside the village.
The full programme for Liwa 2026 will be announced in the coming weeks, promising an exciting experience for both residents and international visitors who love adventure, heritage, and motorsports.
