Dubai welcomed the World Governments Summit 2025 today, bringing together world leaders, government officials, and experts to discuss the future of governance and innovation. The summit, held in Dubai, has attracted a record number of high-profile attendees, including heads of state, ministers, and representatives from international organisations.

Among the distinguished guests were H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

Tour of the Edge Government Exhibit
During their visit, the two Crown Princes toured the Edge Government exhibit, which was set up by the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. The exhibit features 10 groundbreaking innovations from 19 different countries. These projects were selected from more than 150 global entries for their ability to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges.

The Importance of Innovation in Governance
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised the importance of innovation in governance. He highlighted how encouraging creativity and excellence in government work can help leaders anticipate future challenges and find effective solutions.

He also praised the World Governments Summit for strengthening the UAE’s reputation as a leader in innovation and government excellence. He noted that the summit provides a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, discussing new initiatives, and finding ways to improve government efficiency. The goal is to ensure that innovation is at the heart of decision-making, helping to create better opportunities and solutions for future generations.
