Sheikh Hamdan Meets Baidu CEO at World Governments Summit 2025

Dubai’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, met with Robin Li, the Co-Founder and CEO of Baidu, one of China’s top technology companies. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai.

During their discussion, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the importance of working with innovative technology companies. He said that such partnerships help drive the UAE’s vision of using advanced technologies to bring positive change. He also pointed out that Dubai and the UAE have become a global hub for leading tech firms, thanks to their strong business environment and world-class infrastructure.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that by welcoming and working with forward-thinking companies, the UAE can stay ahead in creating solutions that shape the future. He noted that these collaborations have a lasting impact not just on the country but on the world as a whole.

As part of their conversation, both sides discussed how technology can help governments deal with new challenges and take advantage of new opportunities. They talked about the role of technology in improving governance, boosting economic growth, and promoting sustainable development. This discussion tied into the World Governments Summit’s larger goal of inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Baidu, founded in 2000 as a search engine, has grown into a major tech company. In 2010, it became one of the first to use artificial intelligence to make internet searches smarter and faster. Today, its products and services are used on over a billion devices each month. Baidu’s business ecosystem includes millions of developers, hundreds of thousands of businesses, and hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

  • His Excellency Helal Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

The meeting showcased Dubai’s commitment to working with leading global technology firms to create a smarter and more connected future.
