Israeli airstrikes in Gaza continued overnight and on Thursday, killing six members of a family and a Hamas spokesman. The fighting has increased after Israel ended a temporary pause in attacks last week.
One of the attacks hit a tent in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza, where Hamas spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua was staying. A Hamas official, Basem Naim, said al-Qanoua died in the strike.

Another attack near Gaza City killed four children and their parents. The Gaza Health Ministry's emergency team said the family was killed when their house was hit by an Israeli airstrike.
The situation in Gaza has become worse since Israel restarted its attacks last week. The Israeli army launched heavy airstrikes, killing hundreds of Palestinians. Israel has said it will continue fighting unless Hamas releases all hostages, gives up its weapons, and leaves Gaza.
Hamas has said it will only release the 59 hostages still in its control—24 of whom are believed to be alive—if Israel agrees to a permanent stop to attacks and withdraws its forces from Gaza. Hamas says it will not make a deal unless these conditions are met.
The war has made life very hard for people in Gaza. Many families have lost their homes, and thousands of people have been killed. The fighting has also made it difficult for people to get food, water, and medicine. Countries around the world have tried to bring peace, but so far, nothing has worked. The people of Gaza are living in fear, and there is no sign of the war stopping soon.
