Instagram Rings Launched to Honor Top Creators Globally

Since 2010, Instagram has transformed from a simple photo-sharing app into a global cultural powerhouse. And now, for the first time in its history, the platform is creating its own prestigious award—Instagram Rings—designed to celebrate the most innovative and influential creators.

Unlike typical social media recognition, Instagram Rings is extremely exclusive. Out of more than three billion users, only 25 creators will receive the honor, making it one of the rarest accolades in the digital world.

The award aims to spotlight creators who go beyond likes and follower counts, recognizing originality, experimentation, and cultural impact across Instagram formats such as Reels, Stories, and Lives. The initiative kicked off with a mysterious Reel, teasing the launch just a day before the official announcement, sparking excitement across the creator community.

Instagram has curated a star-studded judging panel to select the winners. The panel features global tastemakers, including Adam Mosseri, Eva Chen, Spike Lee, Pat McGrath, Marc Jacobs, Grace Wales Bonner, Yara Shahidi, and KAWS. Their role is to identify creators who are redefining digital creativity and pushing cultural boundaries.

The winners will receive both physical and digital rewards. Each will be presented with a custom-designed gold ring by Grace Wales Bonner, along with a unique “digital story ring” permanently displayed around their Instagram Stories. Additionally, recipients will gain exclusive profile customization options and a dedicated in-app spotlight to showcase their work.

Instagram has not announced a fixed date for revealing the first winners, but the anticipation continues to grow. There is no formal application process—selection is purely nomination-based, emphasizing consistent originality, high-impact experimentation, and meaningful engagement within the Instagram community.
