Indian Woman Sparks Voter Fraud Row with Viral Posts

After a Brazilian woman’s image went viral in voter fraud claims, an Indian woman has now come under the spotlight. Urrmi, as identified on her X account, shared photos of herself with an inked finger, claiming to have voted in different elections in two states.

Two Posts, Two States

One post from May 13, 2024, shows her voting in Pune during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with the caption: “Go Vote, Pune! Voted for development, voted for clean governance, voted for a Modi-fied India!”

A second post, dated November 6, 2025, reads: “Voted for a Modi-fied India! Jaai ke Vote daali, Bihar!”

These posts triggered debates, with political leaders sharing them to support voter fraud allegations. Some social media users suggested the second post was sarcastic.

Clarification From the Woman

After the November 6 post went viral, Urrmi clarified that she did not vote on that day in Bihar. She explained: “Okay, this was just for motivation. I never said I voted today — I said I voted. And everyone knows it was in Maharashtra. So calm down! Motivated enough? Now your turn, Bihar. Go vote!!”

AAP Also Levels Allegations

The Aam Aadmi Party has accused BJP leaders of voting in both the Delhi and Bihar elections. Delhi BJP leaders Rakesh Sinha, Santosh Ojha, and Nagendra Kumar were named. Sinha responded, clarifying that he had legally shifted his vote from Delhi to Bihar, dismissing the allegations as “baseless and morally contested.”

Brazilian Model Case

Earlier, a photo of Larissa Nery, a Brazilian model, was circulated claiming she appeared 22 times at polling booths in Haryana under different names. Nery stated the image was old, from when she was 20, and expressed surprise at being portrayed as an Indian voter.

These incidents highlight the intense scrutiny on India’s electoral process and the viral power of social media in amplifying allegations of voter fraud, whether substantiated or satirical.
