Iconic Harrow School, Former Alma Mater of Churchill, to Open in UAE in Two Years

The prestigious Harrow School, established 452 years ago in London and boasting alumni like Winston Churchill and Jawaharlal Nehru, is preparing to establish its first international branch in the UAE. This expansion is facilitated through an agreement with Taaleem, a prominent UAE education developer, which has secured rights to own and operate Harrow International Schools across several Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.

Rebecca Gray, Chief Education Officer at Taaleem, emphasized the school's commitment to modernizing its timeless values. "We aim to integrate Harrow's rich legacy with contemporary educational needs," she stated. David Eyton, Chairman of the Governors of Harrow School, expressed enthusiasm about broadening access to a Harrow education. "Our goal is to offer a premium education anchored in values like courage and fellowship," he affirmed, highlighting the school's mission to prepare students for leadership, service, and personal fulfillment.

Regarding the timeline, Ms. Gray indicated that the UAE branch is expected to open within the next two years, aligning with a "super-premium" fee category. The school plans to adapt Harrow's renowned British boarding school model to suit UAE pupils and local cultural contexts. "We believe this approach will resonate with families in the region," Ms. Gray added, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the Harrow brand.

Harrow School, renowned globally for academic excellence and holistic development, operates campuses across Asia including Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and India, educating over 9,000 students worldwide. Alan Williamson, CEO of Taaleem, highlighted the UAE branch as a milestone in expanding Harrow's educational legacy in the GCC region.
