Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed said that food security is very important for the future. He explained that the UAE is working to become a leader in food security by using new farming technology to help solve food problems caused by climate change.
He said, “Food security is important for the country’s growth. The UAE is focused on finding new ways to address food challenges, especially those caused by climate change.”
The UAE’s National Food Security Strategy aims to make the country a global leader in food security by 2051. This plan focuses on creating a strong food system by using advanced farming technology and making local food production more sustainable.
Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, the UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, said that the UAE is using innovation to improve food security and help solve global food problems. She also said that food security is linked to climate change because problems like less land for farming, water shortages, and bad weather can affect food production. She stressed that countries need to work together to solve these issues.
The UAE is ranked among the top countries for food security in the region. The country is investing in new technology and research to improve food production and make sure there is enough food for the future.
Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, the Director General of ADAFSA, praised the leadership of the UAE for supporting food security and farming. He said Global Food Week is a great opportunity to share ideas and work together to improve food security worldwide.
The main event of Global Food Week was the Global Food Security Summit, where leaders and experts discussed solutions for food security and how to handle the impact of climate change on food production. The summit was a chance for people from different countries to work together and find ways to make sure everyone has enough food.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, the CEO of ADNEC Group, said they were proud to host such an important event. He added that Global Food Week is a great chance for people from around the world to come together, share ideas, and work toward a sustainable future for food production.
During the event, there were other exhibitions like the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE), which had 49% more exhibitors than last year. The exhibition included over 660 exhibitors from 70 countries. One of the highlights was the Abu Dhabi Coffee Hub, where coffee experts from all over the world shared their knowledge.
The Abu Dhabi Dates Exhibition also took place, where over 100 exhibitors from 28 countries showed their products. This exhibition focused on using new technology to improve date farming in the region.
There was also a honey pavilion where honey producers from around the world displayed their products, and the UAE Farmers’ Pavilion, where local farmers showed their work. Over 100 start-up companies also took part, presenting new ideas to help make farming more sustainable.
The UAE government is committed to sustainable farming and reducing food waste. UAE University also took part by sharing ideas from students and experts on how to improve farming and food security. The Future Food Museum showcased new solutions for the future of food.
In conclusion, Global Food Week and the Global Food Security Summit helped strengthen the UAE’s role as a leader in food security and sustainability. The event brought together experts and leaders from all over the world to discuss how to create a better future for food production and security.
