flydubai has teamed up with emaratech, a top technology company in the UAE, to make immigration faster and easier for its pilots and cabin crew. This partnership is part of flydubai’s plan to use the latest technology and keep improving its services.
At flydubai’s Airport Operations Centre, six new smart gates have been set up. These smart gates use special cameras that recognise faces, artificial intelligence, and real-time data to check crew members quickly without needing to show papers every time. This helps pilots and cabin crew finish immigration checks faster, especially when the airport is busy.

His Excellency Thani Alzaffin, the CEO of emaratech, said they are happy to work with flydubai to make immigration a paperless process for crew members. He explained that their smart gates connect with flydubai’s and the immigration department’s systems. This allows the gates to check crew identities instantly, making their journey smooth and easy.
He added that emaratech is always working to make border checks smarter, faster, and safer by using artificial intelligence. They hope to work more with flydubai in the future to keep improving travel for both crew and passengers.
Mohammed Hareb AlMheiri, Chief Procurement & Technology Officer at flydubai, said they are glad to partner with emaratech. He shared that flydubai always looks for new technology that can support its growth and make operations better. The new biometric smart gates are an important step to make their flights on time, safe, and ready for the future.
Today, flydubai flies to more than 135 cities with 89 modern planes. The airline also has over 6,400 employees, including more than 1,300 pilots and 2,500 cabin crew. By using these new smart gates, flydubai is making sure its team can work faster and with less hassle every day.
