The Global Lighthouse Network is a special group that includes industrial sites around the world that use advanced technology to improve their work. Aramco’s North Ghawar Oil Producing Complex joins other Aramco plants, like the Uthmaniyah Gas Plant, Khurais oil complex, Abqaiq Plants, and Yanbu Refinery, all of which are also in the Lighthouse Network.
Aramco is now the only energy company in the world to have more than three facilities in the Global Lighthouse Network. There are 189 factories in total worldwide that have earned this honor.
Nasir K. Al-Naimi, President of Aramco's Upstream, shared his thoughts on this achievement: “This recognition shows how dedicated we are to improving and working better. It is proof of our journey toward using more digital technology and lowering our carbon footprint. With technology, we aim to make our processes better, reduce harm to the environment, and create more value for our customers and shareholders.”
Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco’s Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation, said: “We have worked hard to make our facilities more digital. This effort has helped us improve efficiency, reduce environmental harm, increase productivity, and make our operations safer. This recognition shows how far we have come in using new technology and our commitment to being an industry leader.”
Aramco’s investment in technology and sustainability is helping the company lead the way in the energy sector. The company is making sure it is prepared for the future while also caring for the environment.
