The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has successfully concluded its Safety in Heat campaign, which focused on ensuring compliance among energy sector companies with the midday work ban during the summer months. This initiative, which prohibits outdoor work under direct sunlight from 12:30 PM to 3 PM, was implemented from June 15 to September 15, 2024.
To promote awareness and adherence to these safety measures, the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department at DoE carried out numerous inspection visits to various worksites in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. These inspections aimed to educate workers, employers, and supervisors about the importance of following the midday work ban. They also sought to ensure that best practices for worker safety were being implemented effectively, including providing shaded areas and cooling equipment to protect employees from the intense heat.
