A cyberattack targeting a major service provider for airport check-in and boarding systems threw Europe’s air travel into disarray on Saturday. Airports including London’s Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin faced major delays and flight cancellations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
The affected provider, Collins Aerospace, confirmed technical disruptions linked to the cyberattack, which impacted systems used by airlines and airports worldwide. Heathrow Airport advised departing travelers to check their flight status ahead of travel, warning of significant delays.

At Brussels Airport, automated check-in and boarding systems were completely offline, forcing staff to revert to manual processing. Officials warned passengers that flight schedules would be heavily disrupted and reassured them that efforts to restore services were underway.
Berlin Airport also reported long queues and delays due to the system failure, posting alerts on its website and urging travelers to allow extra time for check-in. Meanwhile, airports such as Frankfurt in Germany and Zurich in Switzerland confirmed normal operations, indicating that the disruption’s impact varied across the continent.
Despite the widespread chaos, authorities in Poland reported no threats to their airports, with officials monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with other European counterparts to track the incident.
Passengers were advised to confirm travel plans with their airlines and expect delays while systems gradually return to normal.
