Emirates NBD & Emirates NBD Capital awarded for Green Financing & Sukuk Leadership

Emirates NBD, a prominent banking group in the MENAT (Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey) region, achieved significant recognition at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards 2024. The bank was honored with the prestigious ‘Financial Institutions Bond Deal of the Year’ award for its USD 750 million debut green bond issued in 2023. This landmark transaction, the largest of its kind by a bank in MENAT and listed on Nasdaq Dubai, underscores Emirates NBD's commitment to sustainable finance. The green bond aligns with global environmental standards, marking a pivotal step in developing green financial markets regionally.

Emirates NBD Capital, the bank's investment banking arm, also garnered acclaim with two notable awards: ‘Sukuk House of the Year’ and ‘High Yield Debt House of the Year’. These accolades recognize Emirates NBD Capital's pivotal role in enhancing the capital market landscape in MENAT. The firm facilitated diverse financing options, meeting the increasing demand for capital market instruments across the region.

Throughout 2023, Emirates NBD Capital excelled in the International Sukuk League Tables, participating in over 20 Sukuk transactions and raising more than USD 29 billion across 44 tranches for clients in MENAT. The firm notably coordinated all three AED-denominated issuances that year and played a crucial role in Emirates Investment Bank's local currency issuance, demonstrating leadership in managing significant regional transactions.
