Emirates has officially opened its first dedicated lounge in the region at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This new lounge will cater to customers flying on its triple daily A380 services, offering a luxurious and comfortable experience for travelers. The AED 20 million (USD 5.4 million) investment in the 900-square-metre lounge, located in Terminal 1, demonstrates Emirates’ commitment to expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia and supporting the aviation goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The lounge is designed to accommodate over 190 guests at a time, providing a variety of seating options for First and Business class passengers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members. It reflects Emirates' dedication to offering a premium experience on the ground, complementing its renowned in-flight services.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including His Excellency Nasser Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Consul General of UAE in Jeddah, His Excellency Engr. Raed bin Ibrahim Al-Mudaiheem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO), Mohammed Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services at Emirates, Eng. Mazen Johar, CEO of JEDCO, Sami Aqil Abdulla, Senior Vice President Airport Services for Outstations and Business Support, Jabr Al-Azeeby, Vice President Commercial Operations for Emirates in Saudi Arabia, and Amer Al Arai, Airport Services Manager for Emirates at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

Mohammed Mattar highlighted the significance of Jeddah in Emirates’ history, noting that it was the airline’s first gateway into Saudi Arabia 35 years ago. He praised the new lounge's design and strategic location in Terminal 1, emphasizing its role in enhancing the overall travel experience for Emirates passengers. He also expressed gratitude to the airport authorities for their support in establishing the lounge.

Eng. Mazen Johar added that the new lounge represents a significant addition to the airport’s services, aligning with the ongoing development efforts at King Abdulaziz International Airport. He noted that the lounge would enhance the travel experience for passengers from around the world, providing multiple travel options through Emirates’ three daily flights.

The lounge features a modern and sophisticated design with regional influences, offering various seating configurations for dining, lounging, and relaxation. Amenities include luxurious shower facilities, a prayer room, and a wide range of dining options. The buffet includes an array of Middle Eastern, local, and international delicacies, such as Lamb Kabsa, Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini, Moroccan Lemon Chicken, Prawn Machbous, Saint Sebastian Cheesecake, and Tiramisu cake.

Conveniently located on the third floor of Terminal 1’s Departure area, the lounge is a short walk from both the terminal’s entrance and the boarding gates, A28B and A38B, where Emirates’ flights are situated. This makes it easily accessible for passengers before their flights.

In addition to the new Jeddah lounge, Emirates operates seven lounges across the three concourses at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and 32 others around its global network. Emirates has been facilitating tourism and trade in Saudi Arabia since 1989, serving four gateways – Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and Dammam – with over 70 weekly flights, including the flagship Airbus A380s. Over the years, Emirates has transported nearly 30.7 million passengers to and from Saudi Arabia, connecting them to destinations worldwide, including Dubai, London, Istanbul, Paris, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, the United States, and Indian Ocean islands such as the Maldives, Mauritius, and Seychelles.
