In 2026, the UAE will bring together some of the brightest minds from different fields such as academia, business, technology, philosophy, art, and science to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the next 70 years. This global event will be held as part of Dubai AI Week 2026 and will be called “AI@70: Towards a Global Humanity.” It aims to start a conversation about the big philosophical questions related to AI and how it will shape the world.
The event will also mark 70 years since the Dartmouth Workshop, which in 1956 made AI an official field of study. This workshop is often called the "Constitutional Convention of AI." The event will have official support from Dartmouth College, a prestigious university in the USA, which hosted the original meetings that started the field of AI.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, said that Dubai believes in the power of sharing knowledge, working together globally, and building meaningful partnerships to prepare for the future of AI. He also mentioned that AI is a powerful technology that can change how we see humanity, how we work, and the systems we rely on. To unlock AI’s full potential, Dubai will bring together experts from all over the world to understand how AI will impact us and make sure it’s used for positive and inclusive growth.
This event will make Dubai a central place for global AI discussions and will build on the city’s strong philosophical traditions to drive new breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity.
At the end of the event, the ‘Humanity Lab’ will be created. This will be an eight-week incubator program, just like the original Dartmouth Conference. Hosted at the Dubai AI Campus, the lab will combine art, philosophy, and technology to create new kinds of AI products that reflect the big changes AI is bringing to human life.
The gathering of experts will aim to create a new research agenda, focusing on the most important scientific, ethical, and societal questions about AI. The event will try to match the rapid advances in AI technology with fresh philosophical ideas, helping us understand the changes happening around us. It will explore new possibilities that were once thought impossible. This is a chance to set the stage for a new generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and artists to create and think in ways we’ve never imagined before.
The “AI@70” event will be organized by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in partnership with the global advisory firm APCO. The conference will have a steering committee made up of representatives from the DIFC, advisors from APCO, and other experts in AI.
