A substantial portion of these contracts, amounting to over US$ 100 million, is earmarked for bolstering dnata's GSE fleet in Dubai. This strategic investment reflects dnata's anticipation of continued robust demand and substantial growth projections. Presently, dnata operates a fleet of 2,500 motorized GSE units across Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) airports, servicing an impressive roster of over 190 airlines.
These new GSE acquisitions will be sourced from eight leading international manufacturers, with deliveries commencing as early as May 2024.
Steve Allen, CEO of dnata Group, expressed the company's unwavering commitment to investing in top-tier equipment and forging partnerships with esteemed manufacturers to deliver unmatched value and service excellence to its clientele. He emphasized that these recent agreements are aligned with dnata's long-term strategy of continuously enhancing capabilities to meet evolving industry demands.
Globally, dnata operates an extensive fleet of over 8,000 motorized GSE units across its ground handling, cargo, catering, and retail operations, spanning 130 airports across six continents.
Recognizing the imperative of sustainability, dnata acknowledges that electrification alone may not suffice in its ground handling fleet strategy. The company meticulously evaluates climatic conditions and infrastructure availability, collaborating closely with manufacturers and airports to implement practical solutions. dnata's investment strategy encompasses a diversified mix of equipment types, including biodiesel, electric, and hybrid, aimed at maximizing both environmental and operational efficiency on a global scale.
Established in 1959, dnata has emerged as a global leader in air and travel services, offering comprehensive ground handling, cargo, travel, catering, and retail solutions across 30 countries spanning six continents. In the fiscal year 2023-24, dnata's customer-centric teams facilitated over 778,000 aircraft turns, handled 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, catered 123 million meals, and recorded a total transaction value (TTV) of travel services amounting to US$ 2.4 billion.
