During their time at Microsoft, HE Al Tayer engaged in discussions with Microsoft executives Rajmohan Rajagopalan, General Manager of M365 Copilot and Apps, and Ricardo Villalobos, Principal Director of Industry Software Engineering. The focus of these discussions was on leveraging Microsoft’s AI solutions to empower a more efficient and innovative workforce, as well as exploring AI-enabled smart building solutions that align with DEWA’s commitment to digital innovation and sustainable infrastructure.
Earlier this year, DEWA made significant strides by providing its employees with Microsoft’s smart assistants, namely Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Security Copilot. This move marked DEWA as the first government entity in the UAE to adopt such advanced technology from Microsoft. These initiatives form part of DEWA’s broader strategy to harness innovation and the latest disruptive technologies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and service quality. Notably, DEWA is among the first utility companies globally to implement Microsoft’s Copilot technology.
The Microsoft team showcased the capabilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot, an advanced AI tool designed to boost workforce efficiency by automating and streamlining daily operations. The discussions also delved into Microsoft’s smart building solutions, powered by advanced AI technology, which are aimed at optimizing energy consumption and fostering sustainable building environments. Both initiatives resonate with DEWA’s vision of promoting sustainability, innovation, and the development of smart cities in Dubai.
HE Al Tayer reiterated DEWA’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to achieve strategic goals centered on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and environmental sustainability. “DEWA is dedicated to integrating the latest digital solutions, including AI, to maintain our status as a globally leading sustainable and innovative utility. Our collaboration with Microsoft not only strengthens this mission but also paves the way for new technological advancements that will benefit both our workforce and our customers,” he stated.
The delegation’s visit highlights DEWA’s strategic partnership with Microsoft and underscores its commitment to continuous technological advancement and innovation as it strives to shape a sustainable future for Dubai.
