Delhi Blast Investigation Reveals Bomber Assembled Explosives in Parking Before Attack

Delhi, Nov 19, 2025: Investigators in the deadly Delhi blast case have revealed critical details about Umar Mohammed, also known as Umar un-Nabi, the man responsible for the attack near the iconic Red Fort. According to sources, Umar spent nearly three hours assembling explosives in a public parking area near Sunehri Masjid before carrying out the devastating blast.

CCTV footage indicates that Umar entered the parking lot at 3:19 pm and left at 6:28 pm, with the explosion occurring around 6:52 pm. Officials noted that during these three hours, Umar did not step out of his vehicle even once. The meticulous planning inside the parked car reflects both his intent and the level of coordination with his handlers.

Investigators have confirmed that Umar remained in constant contact with his handlers after entering Delhi that morning, discussing potential target locations. The parking near the Red Fort was initially chosen due to its symbolic significance. However, they did not anticipate that it was a Monday and the monument was closed, leaving the parking area nearly empty. Consequently, the plan to detonate there was abandoned, and Umar instead targeted the crowded Netaji Subhash Marg, situated between the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.

The blast tragically claimed 13 lives and injured 20 others. Sources close to the investigation revealed that Umar acted in a state of panic. His associates, Muzammil and Shaheen, both doctors, had been arrested in connection with a massive explosives seizure in Faridabad. Fearing imminent capture, Umar accelerated his plan, driving into the national capital with an explosives-laden car and detonating it shortly after leaving the parking lot.
