Community Development and Partners With PureHealth to Employ 100 People of Determination in Healthcare

The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has forged a significant partnership with PureHealth, aimed at integrating and empowering People of Determination across various facets of life. This collaboration is set to create 100 employment opportunities within the healthcare sector over the next two years. The partnership marks a crucial step toward enhancing the inclusivity of the employment ecosystem and advancing the quality of services available to People of Determination.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the DCD and PureHealth seeks to build an inclusive environment by developing supportive services and programs for People of Determination and their families. The agreement underscores the commitment of both entities to promote a more inclusive healthcare system and improve service quality for this important segment of society.

His Excellency Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Department of Community Development, emphasized the significance of People of Determination as vital contributors to Abu Dhabi's prosperity and development. He noted, "People of Determination are an integral part of our society, and our strategic partnership with PureHealth is a key move toward involving the private sector in providing comprehensive services within a sustainable development framework. This MoU will help integrate and empower People of Determination, aligning with the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2020. The strategy highlights the role of the private sector in enhancing the quality of life and societal integration for People of Determination."

Al Dhaheri further highlighted that this partnership not only enhances the quality of life for People of Determination but also demonstrates the effective collaboration between public and private sectors. The DCD’s approach is not only about ensuring rights but also about harnessing the capabilities and talents of People of Determination, providing them with services that meet their needs and contribute to their empowerment.

Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer at PureHealth, reiterated the company’s commitment to the UAE’s vision of enriching society through improved services for People of Determination. She remarked, "Our renewed commitment aligns with the UAE's vision of enhancing societal services for People of Determination. The MoU with DCD highlights our pivotal role in collaborating with government entities to elevate the quality of life for all. At PureHealth, we are dedicated to fostering true inclusion and diversity, which are central to our vision for advancing longevity science and promoting equal opportunities for all talents."

As part of this initiative, PureHealth has introduced the Empowering Abilities Programme, designed to foster institutional inclusion by implementing policies and procedures that recognize the contributions of People of Determination and ensure equal opportunities. This program will feature flexible working hours, dedicated seating in training sessions, and enhanced internet accessibility through assistive technologies. Additionally, PureHealth is investing in infrastructure improvements, including ramps, accessible restrooms, and advanced workstations, to create a supportive working environment.

Beyond employment and healthcare, the MoU outlines four additional areas of collaboration. These include enhancing the data system for People of Determination in accordance with legal frameworks, improving social care services for independent living, and focusing on research and innovation to influence policy development and pioneer solutions for better quality of life. Furthermore, the partnership will expand PureHealth’s volunteer program, PureHeroes, to offer specialized opportunities aimed at serving People of Determination.

This landmark agreement represents a significant advancement in fostering community cohesion and ensuring that People of Determination are fully integrated and supported within Abu Dhabi’s social and professional landscape.
