CICC Launches Dubai Branch in DIFC, Strengthening UAE-China Ties

China International Capital Corporation (CICC), one of China’s top investment banks, has opened a new branch in Dubai. This new office is in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), which is a major place for business and finance in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

The Dubai branch is run by China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited and is called CICC (DIFC Branch). It has a special license known as Category 4 and is approved by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), which keeps an eye on financial companies in the DIFC.

DIFC is known as an important hub where many Chinese banks and financial companies already have offices. In fact, 30% of the Chinese companies there are part of the Fortune 500 list—this means they are among the biggest and most successful companies in the world.

As the connection between the UAE and China becomes stronger, DIFC wants to help more Chinese businesses grow in the region. Dubai is also planning to use artificial intelligence (AI) in all sectors, and this matches well with China’s progress in technology and AI research. DIFC’s Dubai AI Campus will support these new ideas.

Essa Kazim, the Governor of DIFC, said, “We are happy to welcome CICC to our financial centre. This shows the strong friendship between the UAE and China. More and more Chinese banks, investment companies, and other businesses are choosing Dubai. DIFC is proud to support these companies by giving them a great place to work and grow.”

Chen Liang, the Chairman of CICC, said that opening the Dubai branch is a big step for CICC’s global plans. He said the bank wants to provide smart financial services that connect China with the rest of the world. From the UAE, CICC will offer special financial solutions to help companies in the Gulf region and support Chinese businesses looking to expand globally. He also said the bank will help push forward the Belt and Road Initiative, which is a big project by China to build stronger trade connections around the world.

CICC has its main roots in China but also works globally. The bank offers many services, including investment banking, asset management, trading in stocks and bonds, private equity, and financial advice. CICC focuses on research and technology to give better services to its clients.

The bank already has offices in big cities like Hong Kong, New York, London, Singapore, Frankfurt, and Tokyo. With the new branch in Dubai, CICC wants to become the top choice for helping investments flow between China and the Gulf countries. The Dubai branch will work closely with government funds, large companies, and other partners to help them invest in China and grow their business.
