Amidst the persistent heavy snowfall engulfing Beijing, a metropolis of over 21 million residents, the weather bureau has issued an orange alert, prompting sweeping measures to address the challenges posed by the wintry conditions. The capital city, blanketed in snow since Tuesday, faces a multitude of disruptions, leading to significant regulatory actions.

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, responding to the adverse weather conditions, has taken the decisive step of suspending tourism operations in mountainous areas. Simultaneously, the directive extends to the closure of outdoor large-scale amusement facilities situated in non-mountainous scenic areas. The move aims to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike amid the ongoing blizzard.

In tandem with these measures, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has announced a temporary shift to online classes for all primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and secondary vocational schools in the city.
