Emirates Airline has taken the decision to suspend check-ins for its flights from 8am until midnight on Wednesday, following the unprecedented heavy rainfall that swept across the UAE on Tuesday. The Dubai-based carrier cited operational challenges stemming from adverse weather conditions and road disruptions as the reasons behind this measure. Affected passengers are advised to contact their booking agents or visit the airline's support section on its website for rebooking assistance.
Despite the suspension of check-ins, Emirates reassured passengers arriving in Dubai or already in transit that they would continue to be processed for flights. However, delays are anticipated, and passengers are encouraged to stay updated on flight status information.

In alignment with Emirates' decision, Dubai International Airport (DXB) issued a statement via its official communication platform, X account, urging passengers to refrain from coming to the airport unless absolutely necessary. The statement cited ongoing flight delays and diversions as the primary reasons for this advisory.
Furthermore, Air Arabia, a UAE-based low-cost carrier, also acknowledged the persisting disruptions at Sharjah Airport, confirming on its website that some inbound and outbound flights will be cancelled on Wednesday due to the continued impact of Tuesday's adverse weather conditions.
The heavy rains experienced on Tuesday marked a historic event, being recorded as the most substantial rainfall since meteorological records began in 1949, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The torrential downpour resulted in widespread flooding across the UAE, disrupting normal life and causing significant transportation challenges for both airlines and passengers alike.
