Apple is getting ready for its first big product launch of the year on Wednesday, February 19. CEO Tim Cook shared the date in a post on X, saying, “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family,” along with an animated Apple logo. Apple has not officially said what products will be announced, but many believe the main highlight will be a new iPhone SE. This budget-friendly iPhone has not been updated since 2022.

The iPhone SE is known for its small 4.7-inch screen and a Home button, which allows users to unlock the phone with Touch ID. But leaks say the new model will have big changes. Reports suggest that Apple will remove the Home button and add Face ID, making it look like newer iPhones. The new iPhone SE may also have a bigger screen, though the exact size is not known. Some say it might look like the iPhone 14 or iPhone 15.
Another major change could be Apple’s latest A18 chip, which is expected to make the phone faster and smarter. Some reports also say Apple may use its own 5G modem for the first time, instead of buying it from Qualcomm. The new iPhone SE may also switch from the Lightning port to USB-C, like Apple’s newer devices. Another rumor is that it could have an Action button, which is now only on the iPhone 15 Pro.
There is also talk that Apple might not call it the iPhone SE. Instead, it could be named "iPhone 16E" to match the upcoming iPhone 16 series. However, this is not confirmed yet.
Apart from the iPhone SE, Apple is also expected to launch new versions of the MacBook Air and iPad Air. A report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple’s stock of these products is running low, which usually means new models are coming soon. The new MacBook Air is rumored to have Apple’s M4 chip, which will improve speed and battery life. Meanwhile, the iPad Air might get an M3 chip, making it more powerful. There are also reports of an updated entry-level iPad, which could have either an A16 Bionic or A17 Pro chip, but it may not look very different from the current model.
One surprising rumor is that Apple may show a new smart home device. This product could be similar to Amazon’s Echo Show or Google’s Nest Hub, helping users control smart home devices, make FaceTime calls, and more. Some reports say it might look like a HomePod with a built-in screen, and it could have a 6-inch or 7-inch display. It is expected to run on Apple’s A18 chip and could launch in late 2025. Since Apple sometimes reveals new products months before release, there is a chance they may give a preview at this event.
Some people thought Apple might also introduce a second-generation AirTag, after seeing a circular Apple logo in Tim Cook’s teaser post. But experts say this is unlikely, as Apple usually does not focus on small accessories in big events. A new AirTag is reportedly in the works, but it is expected to be released in mid-2025. The new version may have a better speaker to prevent tampering, a stronger Ultra Wideband chip with a longer range, and better connection with the Apple Vision Pro headset.
As February 19 gets closer, the new iPhone SE seems to be the main focus of the event. However, Apple may also announce new MacBook Air and iPad Air models, or even reveal its smart home plans. Apple has not confirmed anything yet, but the wait to find out will soon be over.
