Al Ain will serve as the host city for the 2025 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup, scheduled from 25th October to 5th November 2025 at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. This prestigious international event will showcase athletes with disabilities, emphasizing inclusion and sporting excellence.
Organized by the Zayed Authority for People of Determination in partnership with the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation, the championship takes place under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.
The tournament will feature competitors from 37 nations, comprising around 370 participants, including athletes, delegation heads, and international referees. A total of 213 athletes—both male and female—will compete in 43 events across various categories, including men’s, women’s, and visually impaired divisions, demonstrating their skills and determination on a global platform.
Events will feature air pistol, air rifle, small-bore rifle, shotgun, and visually impaired shooting, all held according to international standards, promoting fairness and top-level competition. This will mark the eighth time the UAE hosts this championship, underscoring its growing influence in the global para-sport arena.
According to Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, this event again reflects the trust placed by the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation in the UAE’s ability to host such significant events, ensuring an inclusive sporting environment with world-class infrastructure.
Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, noted that the championship aligns with the UAE's strategy to enhance its global sports stature. The competition empowers People of Determination, providing them a stage to shine and gain recognition for their hard work and talent.
Expressing gratitude for the ongoing support from the UAE's leadership, Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at the Zayed Authority and Chairman of the Championship’s Supreme Organising Committee, emphasized the event's significant place in the international para-sport calendar, made possible by the UAE’s consistent organisational excellence.
The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup transcends mere competition; it fosters inclusivity, promotes worldwide collaboration, and positions the UAE as a prominent venue for para-sport events. Athletes globally will have the opportunity to exhibit their skills and tenacity, inspiring generations of future para-athletes.
