Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan paid a heartfelt tribute to her late father, Krishnaraj Rai, on his birth anniversary, sharing an emotional glimpse into how the family continues to honour his memory. Marking the day on social media, she posted a set of nostalgic “then and now” photographs that captured the bond between Krishnaraj Rai and his granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan—one that Aishwarya still treasures deeply.
The first picture showed a heartwarming moment from the past, where a young Aaradhya gently kissed her grandfather on the cheek while Aishwarya stood beside them with a warm smile. The second photo offered a present-day glimpse of the mother-daughter duo, both dressed in white, standing in prayer before Krishnaraj Rai’s portrait. Their quiet tribute reflected the continued presence he holds in their lives, even years after his passing.
Aishwarya accompanied the images with a deeply emotional message, writing, “Happy Birthday dearest Daddy-Ajjaaa. Our Guardian Angel, love you eternally. Thanking you for ALL your infinite love and blessings as our Aaradhya turned 14.” Her message highlighted the dual significance of the day—celebrating her father’s memory while acknowledging the milestones his granddaughter continues to reach.
Krishnaraj Rai passed away in 2017 in Mumbai after a prolonged illness. Aishwarya shared an exceptionally close bond with him, and since his death, the actor has consistently honoured him on both his birth and death anniversaries. Each year, she shares private family moments, prayers, or personal reflections, keeping alive a tradition rooted in gratitude and remembrance.
Professionally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s 2023 epic Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2. The film, featuring stars like Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, became a major commercial success, earning over ₹344 crore worldwide. Her portrayal in the film was widely praised, earning her the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award at SIIMA. Her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, described her performance as her finest work to date.
Through her heartfelt tribute this year, Aishwarya once again reminded fans of the deep emotional ties she continues to hold with her father, and the ways she keeps his memory alive for herself, her family, and especially for Aaradhya.
