Air Arabia has officially launched a new daily nonstop flight service connecting Sharjah in the UAE to Krabi, the scenic coastal gem of Thailand. Starting on 28 November 2025, this new route significantly enhances travel options between these two destinations. The service is set to boost tourism, commercial travel, and cultural interactions between the UAE and Thailand, marking another leap in Air Arabia's expansion into Southeast Asia.
The inaugural flight took off from Sharjah International Airport on 28 November 2025. Upon its arrival at Krabi Airport, passengers received a warm welcome led by Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phipat Ratchakitprakarn. This reception, attended by senior officials from both Air Arabia and Krabi Airport, underscored the new flight's importance to Thailand, particularly in promoting tourism in Krabi, known for its stunning beaches and natural beauty.
Krabi is a premier travel destination in Thailand, renowned for scenic hotspots like Railay Beach, Ao Nang, Phi Phi Islands, and Phang Nga Bay. Millions flock to Krabi annually for the adventure, stunning landscapes, and local cuisines. With direct flights from Sharjah, residents of the UAE, the Gulf region, and neighboring nations can now enjoy hassle-free access to Krabi, replacing what used to be a lengthy journey involving connecting flights.
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia, remarked on the significance of this new service, describing it as a pivotal moment for the airline's growth in Southeast Asia. The daily flights will provide travelers with enhanced convenience and planning flexibility. He highlighted that this connection is poised to strengthen trade and travel ties between the UAE and Thailand, reflecting the ongoing growth of bilateral relations.
Air Arabia previously operated flights between Sharjah and two major Thai cities: Bangkok and Phuket. The addition of Krabi offers travelers three direct options for reaching Thailand from the UAE, paving the way for increased tourism, business trips, and family visits. The airline anticipates that this new service will encourage more travelers from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia to explore Thailand, especially during short excursions.
For UAE residents, the new direct service presents an exciting travel opportunity. Thailand's affordability, delicious cuisine, breathtaking scenery, and myriad activities make it a favorite among visitors. The daily nonstop flights enable families, senior travelers, and anyone preferring a shorter travel time to fly directly to Krabi. Adventure seekers, divers, and beachgoers will also find it easier to reach popular attractions in Krabi.
Thailand's tourism industry relies heavily on international visitors, and Air Arabia's direct service is expected to attract even more tourists from the UAE and beyond through Sharjah Airport. This influx will benefit local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies in Krabi. The presence of high-level officials like the Deputy Prime Minister at the launch event highlights Thailand's commitment to fostering tourism and welcoming international travelers.
In addition to tourism, the new flight service is set to bolster business connections. The UAE has become a key trading partner for Thailand in the Middle East, and enhanced flight accessibility will facilitate easier travel for business professionals and investors, as well as encourage small business opportunities in various sectors like hospitality and retail.
Daily flights empower travelers to choose dates that match their preferences, and the increased frequency will accommodate rising demand during peak travel seasons. Air Arabia, committed to making travel affordable and accessible, sees this initiative as a vital step toward simplifying international travel while providing uninterrupted service.
The introduction of the Sharjah-Krabi route signifies a new chapter for both Air Arabia and travelers eager to explore Thailand. With the successful launch of this service, further network expansions to Southeast Asia are anticipated. For now, passengers can relish the prospect of exploring one of Thailand's most breathtaking regions with greater ease and comfort.
