His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman affirmed the Council's commitment to advancing sustainable development as directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He emphasized the importance of nurturing human capital and introducing innovative initiatives to cultivate talented media professionals who can shape the industry's future.
Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the Council's dedication to investing in a new generation of leaders capable of fostering innovation and excellence within. He noted ongoing efforts to collaborate with partners to identify and nurture talent that can create new growth opportunities for the sector. His Highness expressed the hope that media institutions would play a significant role in inspiring young talent and providing them with opportunities to transform the industry.

These remarks were made during a meeting of the Dubai Media Council, where Sheikh Ahmed reviewed the Council's progress in achieving its objectives and assessed various initiatives, particularly those focused on talent development, leadership, and training programs delivered through workshops and seminars.
The meeting also discussed strategies to accelerate the Council’s strategic objectives in the forthcoming phase by enhancing collaboration with industry partners. This includes forging professional partnerships with leading institutions in Dubai and the UAE, as well as academic collaborations with universities and providers of specialized programs. The aim is to create a comprehensive program designed to train and prepare future professionals.
In addition to the Council's discussions, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed met with recipients of the first two cohorts of the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Students’ at the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication. He commended the students for their dedication to academic excellence and encouraged them to continue developing skills that would enable them to contribute to the growth of the industry in both Dubai and the broader Arab world.
Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the leadership's commitment to empowering youth, underscoring their vital role as the future leaders of media. He expressed confidence in their potential to shape a dynamic and competitive landscape in the UAE that aligns with global advancements in the industry.
The ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Students’ is designed to encourage Emirati youth to pursue careers in the sector, increase national participation, and ensure that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to the future of the industry. This initiative aligns with Dubai's vision to become a leading global hub.
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director noted that Sheikh Ahmed’s meeting with the scholarship recipients reflects the leadership’s vision of empowering youth. Under his guidance, the Council continues to develop a new generation of leaders, nurturing national talent while fostering an environment of innovation essential for strengthening Dubai’s position as a powerhouse. She also remarked on the impressive performance of the scholarship recipients, reinforcing optimism for the sector's future.
Her Excellency Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Council, emphasized that investing in human capital is crucial for driving development across various sectors. She highlighted that the first and second cohorts of scholarship recipients would play a key role in realizing the goals of the sector's development strategy.
The Dubai Media Council is actively expanding the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Students’ by strengthening partnerships with top universities and providing exceptional students with opportunities to work with leading institutions in Dubai. There are also plans to consider extending the scholarship to include Master's programs, further enhancing the educational and professional landscape for aspiring professionals.
