Abu Dhabi Launches First Autonomous Delivery Vehicle Pilot

Abu Dhabi has taken a major step toward the future of smart transport with the launch of its first-ever pilot program for autonomous delivery vehicles. This initiative is supervised by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) and is carried out in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). The pilot program is implemented by the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), in collaboration with K2 and EMX, the logistics division of 7X.

A historic milestone of this project is the issuance of Abu Dhabi’s first official license plate for a self-driving delivery vehicle. This license makes the city one of the pioneers in introducing autonomous delivery vehicles into real urban settings.

Advanced Technology Behind the Vehicles

The autonomous delivery vehicles used in this pilot program are developed by Autogo, a subsidiary of K2. 7X and EMX’s Role

Tariq Al Wahedi, Group CEO of 7X, spoke about the importance of integrating autonomous delivery vehicles into Abu Dhabi’s logistics system. He explained that EMX, the logistics arm of 7X, is actively participating in creating an efficient and sustainable last-mile delivery ecosystem.
