With the wedding season approaching, every bride wants to look her best—glowing, classy, and truly memorable. And what better way to achieve that than through jewellery? From classic gold to trendy minimalist designs, this year’s bridal fashion is a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Bindu Sharma, Founder and Creative Director of Mavitrra, shares the top bridal jewellery trends for 2025 that no bride should miss.
Polki and Kundan jewellery continue to be the top choice for brides aiming for aristocratic elegance. These vintage-style pieces, featuring uncut diamonds set on gold, are a heritage of Rajasthan and exude a luxurious, antique charm. Brides are opting for heavy Polki chokers paired with layered necklaces and statement jhumkas to create a regal look. Each Polki piece has a unique raw sparkle, making every jewellery set timeless and era-less.
Statement chokers are back in a big way. They accentuate the neckline and draw attention to the upper body, complementing heavy Polki or sleek diamond pieces. Combining chokers with long layered necklaces gives a balanced yet dramatic effect. Adding colored stones like emeralds or rubies can further enhance the visual impact, making the bridal ensemble striking and sophisticated.
Not every bride prefers heavy or elaborate jewellery. Minimalism is trending among modern brides who want a stylish yet understated look. Delicate diamond chains, thin bangles, and subtle earrings are perfect for pre-wedding events such as mehendi, haldi, or cocktail parties. Minimal jewellery adds elegance without overshadowing the overall outfit, providing a look that is effortless yet glamorous.
Temple jewellery has become especially popular among South Indian brides. Known for its intricate designs inspired by deities, this style adds a cultural and traditional touch to bridal attire. Made from gold and sometimes accented with rubies or emeralds, temple jewellery pairs beautifully with silk sarees and traditional bridal outfits, making it ideal for those who want to celebrate their heritage.
Layering jewellery continues to be a favorite trend. Brides are mixing multiple necklaces of varying lengths, textures, and designs to create a harmonious yet grand effect. Combining gold, diamonds, pearls, or Polki layers allows for individuality while keeping the look traditionally elegant.
This season, colourful gemstones are gaining attention alongside gold and diamonds. Emeralds, sapphires, and rubies add vibrancy to bridal jewellery and are often chosen to match the outfit. Beyond aesthetics, gemstones are believed to emit positive energy and prosperity, making them a meaningful addition to a bride’s look.
Vintage jewellery is enjoying a resurgence, inspired by family heirlooms and nostalgic designs. Antique gold pieces, Victorian-style diamond sets, and classic pearl necklaces either handed down through generations or newly crafted evoke sentimental value. These pieces add timeless charm to the bridal ensemble.
Headpieces have become essential bridal accessories. Maang tikkas and matha pattis, whether simple or ornate, frame the face beautifully while maintaining a traditional feel. Brides are experimenting with asymmetrical designs, layered chains, and pearl detailing to give these classic accessories a contemporary twist.
Bold earrings are taking the spotlight, especially for lighter functions. Oversized chandbalis, jhumkas, and intricate danglers are preferred over heavy necklaces, allowing the earrings to shine. Some brides even skip necklaces entirely to let their statement earrings take center stage.
From royal Polki sets and statement chokers to minimalist pieces and temple jewellery, 2025 bridal jewellery trends are all about personal expression while honoring tradition. Whether you prefer grandeur or subtlety, there’s a style for every bride to look radiant and unforgettable on her special day.
