The World Utilities Congress is a very important event. It helps people in the energy and water sectors come together to find better and cleaner ways to use these resources. This year, the event is based on the theme “Innovating for a New Age of Utilities,” which means finding new and better ideas for the future of energy and water services.
On the first day, there were special discussions with government ministers about how to match energy plans with the goals of COP30, an important climate agreement. They also talked about how countries can grow their economies while still protecting the environment, especially in developing areas. Other talks focused on how to reach net-zero carbon emissions, better ways to store energy, the use of nuclear power, and solutions to water shortages. There were also discussions about how countries can connect their power systems across borders.
At the same time, the Innovation Hub showed off new technologies that are changing the utilities sector in exciting ways.
The World Utilities Congress 2025 will run until May 29. It is expected to bring together more than 18,000 experts from the industry and over 500 speakers. There will be more than 120 panel discussions. This congress is a key place where leaders can share their knowledge, work together on new ideas, and help move the world closer to a clean, strong, and smart future for energy and water services.
