Fitness Coach Says Cutting Rice and Roti Won’t Help in Weight Loss, Shares Practical Tips

In recent years, many people have started to believe that cutting out foods like rice and roti is necessary to lose weight. Carbohydrates are often blamed as the main reason for weight gain. But fitness coach and sports nutrition expert Jeet Selal has explained that this idea is not completely true. According to him, removing carbs from your diet completely is not only unnecessary but can also harm your overall energy and health.

Jeet Selal said that the body needs carbohydrates to work properly. Foods like rice and roti give the body energy for daily activities such as walking, working, studying, and exercising. If a person suddenly stops eating carbs, they may feel weak, tired, and lose focus. The coach said that many people follow low-carb diets because they want quick results, but these results do not last long and can lead to health issues.

He explained that losing fat does not happen just by removing one type of food. Real fat loss comes from understanding how the body uses food and energy. Jeet said that people should follow three basic steps if they want to lose fat in a healthy and steady way. The first is to be in a calorie deficit, which means eating slightly fewer calories than the body uses. The second is eating enough protein to protect and support muscle strength. The third is staying active every day by exercising or doing simple movement like walking.

He added that a balanced lifestyle is more helpful than strict diets. A person can still eat rice or roti and lose weight if they manage their portions and make sure they are active. The key is not to look for fast solutions but to build habits that can be followed for a long time.

Jeet Selal encouraged people to avoid extreme dieting trends. He said that health and weight management should not make a person feel weak or unhappy. Instead, the goal should be to eat in a way that keeps the body strong and the mind calm. He also reminded that every person’s body is different, so results may take time. What matters most is staying patient and consistent.

Many experts agree with this approach. Cutting out entire food groups can cause more harm than good. A balanced diet with vegetables, proteins, healthy fats, and carbohydrates, along with regular physical movement, is more effective and sustainable. Foods like rice and roti are part of many cultural diets and provide strength and comfort, and there is no need to remove them completely.

Jeet Selal’s message offers a simple reminder. Weight loss is not about fear or restriction. It is about understanding your body, eating mindfully, and keeping yourself active every day.
