Vietnam and Japan are reinforcing their alliance in human resource development, targeting enhancements in the capabilities of grassroots officials while aiming to elevate governance standards. This move underscores a long-term commitment to advancing institutional growth and fostering international collaboration in public administration.

In a significant meeting held at the Government Headquarters in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra engaged with Honna Hitoshi, Chairman and CEO of Erex Group. Discussions revolved around evaluating ongoing cooperative efforts and discovering new avenues for expanding training initiatives between both nations.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra highlighted the value of the joint training program established by the Ministry of Interior and Erex Group since 2022. This initiative has been vital in bolstering public management skills, particularly among young civil servants, grassroots-level officials, and female leaders, enabling them to meet the demands of contemporary governance.

To date, nearly 300 Vietnamese officials have engaged in training programs in Japan, acquiring essential international experience and practical insights. The program’s influence has been considerable, with many participants successfully utilizing their skills at the local level. Remarkably, around 60 percent of trained young officials have advanced to higher roles, highlighting the initiative's effectiveness and relevance.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra stressed that cultivating a skilled and proficient workforce is paramount for the Vietnamese government. She pointed out that international cooperation programs such as this one not only enhance administrative efficiency but also aid in the construction of a modern, adaptable governance system that aligns with the needs of a fast-evolving global landscape.

Honna Hitoshi, in response, recognized Vietnam's recent advancements in reinforcing its leadership and governance framework for the 2026–2031 period. He reiterated Erex Group’s dedication to continuing and broadening its collaboration with Vietnam, especially in the domain of human resource development, which he views as a crucial pillar for sustainable development.

The meeting wrapped up with both parties expressing enthusiasm for the future of Vietnam-Japan collaboration. There was mutual recognition that ongoing cooperation in training and capacity enhancement will be essential in bolstering Vietnam's socio-economic progress and fortifying bilateral relations between the two countries.
