UICCA Selects 10 Startups for Circular Economy Launchpad

The UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) has announced the final group of ten innovative climate-tech startups that will take part in its Circular Economy Cycle of the Launchpad programme. This is a big step forward in helping the UAE reach its goals of protecting the environment and building a circular economy—where nothing goes to waste and resources are reused.

These ten startups are working on creative solutions to fight climate change and reduce waste. The companies chosen are:
Alterba, CAULI, Circa Biotech, Desolenator BV, Excess Materials Exchange, Food With Benefits, Novasensa, Terrax, The Waste Lab, and Yellow Octopus.

Their ideas include:

• Turning waste into useful products (waste valorisation)

• Using artificial intelligence for reusable packaging

• Creating new ways to recycle water

• Building advanced recycling methods

These efforts support the UAE’s move toward a cleaner, greener future and a stronger economy that uses fewer natural resources.

What’s Next for the Startups?

The Circular Economy Cycle, which is being run in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Economy, started this May. It includes several training workshops from 6 May to 27 May 2025. These workshops help the startups learn about:

• How to enter the market

• Planning finances

• Measuring their environmental impact

• How to attract investors

There will also be two special talks where experts will guide them on dealing with rules and growing their business in the UAE.

The programme will end with a Showcase Event on 17 June 2025, where the ten startups will present their ideas in front of important guests—such as investors, government officials, and business leaders. This will give them a chance to get support, funding, and new business partnerships.
