The Dh100 million jackpot in the UAE’s first official lottery made many people excited as they waited for the first-ever draw. The draw was a big moment for many people who dreamed of changing their lives. For them, this huge amount of money meant a chance to build a house, secure their children’s future, and pay off debts.
The UAE Lottery is run by The Game LLC, and it offers many prizes. People can choose their own numbers or use a random generator. There are also scratch cards, with prizes of up to Dh1 million. Along with the grand jackpot, seven lucky ticket holders are guaranteed to win Dh100,000 each with a special 'Lucky Chance ID.'
One man, Shuaib Khan, an engineer living in Abu Dhabi, came up with the idea to buy 20 tickets. Instead of buying just one ticket, Shuaib and his colleagues decided to pool their money together. Each person contributed Dh100, and they got 20 tickets, each with different numbers. "The more tickets you buy, the better your chances of winning," said Shuaib. If they won, they planned to share the prize equally among all ten of them. Even a small share of the Dh100 million would change their lives, Shuaib said.

Another man, Sabith, an Indian worker in Al Ain, has been buying lottery tickets for seven years. “Each month, I dream of different things while waiting for the draw,” he said. Sabith buys a ticket with his friends and father, hoping to win. He remembers how one of his friends won big money last year, and since then, everyone has joined in to try their luck. Sabith’s father dreams of using the money to return to India and build a house if they win.
The first draw was held at 8:30 pm on Saturday, December 14. The draw was live-streamed on YouTube, and thousands of people tuned in to watch. Abdul Hameed, a long-time Dubai resident, was one of those waiting eagerly for the draw. He logged into YouTube at 7 pm, over an hour before the draw. “This could be life-changing. We’re all gathered around, hoping for that moment,” he said.
The grand prize for the 'Lucky Day' draw is Dh100 million. There are also other prizes, including Dh1,000, Dh100,000, and Dh1 million. Buyers can pick six numbers from the "Days" section (1 to 31) and one number from the "Months" section (1 to 12) to try to match the winning combination.
At 8:30 pm, the live draw began. Hosts Diala Makki and Chadi Khalaf introduced the prizes and drew the numbers. The numbers for the days section were 26, 19, 9, 11, 18, and 17. The number from the months section was 7.
Along with the main jackpot, seven 'Lucky Chance IDs' were drawn, each winning Dh100,000. These lucky IDs were CP6638485, CQ6766870, DU9775445, DJ8619319, DC7978145, CO6505342, and CS6983220. The next lottery draw will be on December 28.
As the numbers were drawn, many people watched and waited for their own numbers to appear. One of the viewers, Omar, had previously won Dh50,000 in another UAE lottery draw. He remembered how winning that amount allowed him to pay off debts and help his family. He hoped for another lucky win. "A jackpot of Dh100 million is beyond imagination. But it would help pay off debts, secure our children’s future, and maybe even start a new business," he said.
The first-ever draw of the UAE Lottery has ended, and while the Dh100 million jackpot winner has not yet been announced, thousands of people watched live and shared their excitement. Many people may not have won the grand prize, but each ticket holder has a chance to win smaller prizes. One participant, Ash from Dubai, didn’t win anything this time but said he would keep trying. “It’s fun to try, and maybe next time I’ll pick random numbers instead of using my birthday,” he said.
